    About the Project

    DeSales University came to Ruckus with a blank slate and a clear desire to elevate their brand presence for the school year. We built a concept around two ideas at the heart of the DeSales experience: light and transformation. The film uses light as both metaphor and design language, revealing the growth that happens as students step into new versions of themselves.

    Visually, the piece is constructed as a dynamic, rotating experience. A circular camera move revolves around a central student while the world around them changes with each pass. Pillars of light form a clean, modern set that guides the eye, while new people and moments appear in the background to suggest the range of life and possibility on campus. The final deliverables included both :30 and :60 regional spots designed to feel elevated, cinematic, and emotionally clear.

    Why This Exists

    Higher education marketing often defaults to broad claims. DeSales wanted something more intentional, a concept that would communicate the inner shift students actually feel when they find their direction, their community, and their confidence. This campaign exists to tell that story without overexplaining it, using simple visual storytelling to make transformation tangible.

    By tying the film's structure to the brand idea, light revealing what is already inside, the spot differentiates DeSales from nearby institutions and creates an experience that students can emotionally recognize. One viewer put it simply: it made them proud to be a DeSales student.
